The Role of Holy Spirit
The Role of Holy Spirit!
“Holy Spirit came to be the transition process of the power of God into the lives of God’s people. That’s His purpose!” stated Apostle Don Lyon on a Sunday morning at Faith Center.
“And, you shall receive power!” Jesus gave His disciples power over unclean spirits, over sickness and disease, to cleanse the leper and raise the dead to name just a few, and that same power is available to all who believe in Jesus. Dr. Lyon continued, “Church, we have a great responsibility to carry out everything He has directed us to do.” That same spiritual connection is available to all believers in Jesus. He is the “Helper” Jesus describes in John 14:16, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper.” The Helper, Holy Spirit, will guide us. And just how does someone receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit? It’s possible to receive when you are alone with God, or when responding to an altar call, or in a hay loft as happened to a young Don Lyon and two of his buddies as they worshipped and prayed in the barn at the Lyon’s family farm. He and his teenage friends had been going to a revival meeting at their church, and they decided that they wanted all that God has to offer. God immersed them fully into His power by Holy Spirit.
John 20:21, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
