Pastor Marla Eash offered sound instruction and direction about our Christian walk in her profound and exciting message, “Rockford’s Lampstand”. It is imperative for us to be alert and ready, always. Therefore, keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. (Matt 25:13)

This is what the Kingdom of Heaven will be like. Therefore, keep watch! You do not know the day or the hour. In a parable, Jesus teaches us about ten virgins who took their lamps and waited to meet the Bridegroom. Five were wisely prepared with extra oil to supply their lamps throughout the night, even if He delayed. Five foolishly were not. At midnight, when a shout announced His arrival, the five wise virgins went out with their lamps lit to meet Him and entered the wedding feast. Then the door was shut and locked. Later the other five came and asked the Lord to open the door.

What about the other five? (Matthew 25:1-11)

Verses 12-13: But He replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. Another version says it like this, To the foolish virgins He replied, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I do not know you [we have no relationship].’  Therefore, be on the alert [be prepared and ready], for you do not know the day nor the hour [when the Son of Man will come].

Pastor Marla stated, “The disciple who lives in obedience to God is a spiritual light in a world of increasing darkness.” “A lamp symbolizes God’s Word. His truth being actionable in our lives and in our church, which lights our pathway. Your light is God’s Word at work in your life. The oil that takes us the distance is the filling and the acknowledging of Holy Spirit’s presence.” “Jesus said that the foolish virgins did not bring any oil with them. Church, we live in a day when we can’t afford not to have the Holy Spirit’s provision present in our daily lives. Holy Spirit’s oil and fire will burn through every darkness and empower us to be His light, His continual Light.”

(Rockford), Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in Heaven. (Matthew 5:17 AMP)
