God Only Looks At Your Present!

9/3/17 Apostle Don Lyon

The “Now” is where God sees us.   He knows us as we are now, not what we were, not what we want to be, not what we think we are… (Apostle Don Lyon)

Apostle Lyon referred to The Parable of the Tares in his message which could also be described as the parable of the weeds. (Matthew 13:24-30)  Jesus explained that the field in this parable is the world where good seed and tares were growing together.  He went on to say that the good seeds are sons of the kingdom and described the tares as sons of the wicked one.  The enemy, who sowed them while the men who kept the field slept, is the devil.

“Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked (or winked at), but now commands all men everywhere to repent.” (Acts 17:30)  The Master was aware of the tares in the field and for a period of time, he winked at their presence.  Be aware that there is a time coming when there will be a reckoning.  At the end of the age, the angels will reap the harvest.  The tares will be gathered and burned in the fire. (Matthew 13:36-43.)

God sees us in the “Now”.  I want to drive that point home because it will help your understanding of walking straight.  (Apostle Lyon)  God sees us in the “Now”.  Where are you right now?  Our part is to examine ourselves closely.  The Word tells us to be ready in season and out.  To be prepared at all times, to be prepared by walking straight and to tell others the truth of the Gospel (Timothy 4: 1-3).   A good past doesn’t count, good works don’t do it.  It’s His Good Work that did it for you.  He died that you could have forgiveness of your sins.

“And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.”  Acts 17: 26-27)

How does God see you “Now”?

What do you look like to God “Now”?
