Don’t Run From Your Fears

An agreement: formal, solemn and binding is known as a covenant.

There was once a young man who formed a covenant with a sovereign. Their covenant was binding to the death and beyond. He received significant gifts of weaponry and armor from the sovereign. 1 Samuel 18:1-4. To further clarify definitions, a person with supreme power or authority, a ruler, especially a monarch is known as a sovereign. The youth in this story honored the covenant for the remainder of his lifetime, but because this covenant was a natural bond, it had the ability to fail.

There is another Man, a Sovereign, who formed a Covenant that was and still is binding to the death and beyond. Gifts of great importance: armor, weaponry, authority and power are available to all partakers of this Covenant, even today. Ephesians 6:10-13. This is an unfailing Covenant. With this covenant, we never have to run because of fear. This Covenant is received by the Spirit of adoption. The Spirit Himself bears witness that we are His children and heirs to the promise through Christ. Romans 8:15-17.

We are “fully equipped”. When the enemy sees no fear in your heart, that’s a sign the Sovereign has put a stamp of approval on your life.”, so “Stand fast and stand firm right where you are that you may know what is the hope of His calling.” (Apostle Don Lyon). We have no need to fear. The battle is already won.
